A permanent position open to INRAE competition to study cellular heterogeneity and fungal metabolism. ATTENTION- Application deadline = March 4, 2025

The INRAE Plant Health and Environment Department recruits its Chargés de Recherches de Classe Normale not on the basis of a pre-established research project, but on the basis of a skills profile to be implemented within the framework of a research unit. The essential criteria for successful competition are therefore scientific excellence (assessed in particular, but not exclusively, through publications), the ability to generate and implement research projects, and the ability to work as part of a team.

In the case of position profile CR-2025-SPE-4, the objective is to provide conceptual and methodological skills for the study of cellular heterogeneity resulting from the formation of microenvironments and spatio-temporal differentiation events in filamentous fungi. To understand its importance in the adaptation of fungi to their environment, you will characterize the dynamics of this heterogeneity and analyze transcriptome and metabolome variations in isogenic cells.  Your study models will be the mycotoxin-producing fungi that contaminate plant products.  To strengthen our Mycology and Food Safety research team in Bordeaux, you will contribute and acquire skills in physiology and/or functional genomics, particularly in applied genomics at the cell level. In this way, you will contribute to our knowledge of mycotoxin production mechanisms and their regulation.

The competition takes place in two stages: i) an eligibility phase based on the candidate's application file, ii) an admission phase following an oral interview of eligible candidates by a panel of scientific experts. Selection is based on the suitability of the candidate's skills profile and the quality of his or her application and oral presentation. For full details of how to register and take part in the competition, go to INRAE web site.

Apply before March 4, 2025
