The main species associated with FHB and FCR of wheat in 2014 and 2015 had been identifiedin Algeria. The predominant species isolated from crowns was Fusarium culmorum, followed by Michrodochium majus, F. pseudograminearum, M. nivale, F. verticillioides, and F. avenaceum. The predominant species isolated from heads was F. culmorum followed by F. pseudograminearum.

The high correlation obtained between the in vitro seed inoculation test and the head inoculation test for F. culmorum help predicting the pathogenicity of this species isolates and then economize time by choosing the isolates in laboratory before field or greenhouse inoculation of the wheat heads.
